A Full Day of Musical Theatre!

 

This season NATS OTTAWA will present a full day of Musical Theatre Master Classes with Louisa Corbett Burgess, on Sunday, November 13th, 2011 in the Chapel of Tabaret Hall, University of Ottawa,550 Cumberland.

The morning session (9:30 a.m. to noon), open to (experienced) 10 year olds to 15 year olds, will include a brief discussion regarding staging and character preparation, followed by the staging and performance of WILL-A-MANIA (and other selections) from the Will Rogers Follies. Pianist Wendy Berkelaar will accompany the morning session.

On Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Miss Burgess will lead a master class of musical theatre selections, open to singers, ages 16 and older, which will commence with a brief lecture on “How to Prepare for an Audition”. Mozart's Don Giovanni

 

NATS members and their students are invited (at no charge) to attend dress rehearsals of Mozart's Don Giovanni in Alumni Auditorium (University of Ottawa) on Tuesday, January 24th and Wednesday, January 25th (2012) at 7:00 p.m. The opera will be presented in Italian and English, fully staged with costumes and orchestra, and will last 2:30 hours including intermission. Senior Scholarship 2012 - The application deadline has been extended to Monday, December 12, 2011. The National Capital Region Chapter is pleased to again offer a Senior $1,000 Scholarship. The competition is open to current and former students of NATS-NCR Chapter teachers if they have previously competed at the intermediate or senior level in our annual Student Vocal Festival.
